ERGO will pay insurance indemnities to their clients for trip cancellation and interruption risks caused by paralysed air traffic

In accordance with ERGO travel insurance conditions an insurance event as volcanic eruption can be compared to natural disasters and is an insurance exception. But this time, showing good will and understanding the situation, insurance company ERGO taking care of it’s customers in an exceptional situation as this, decided to cover the costs associated with the canceled or transferred trips for amount of 50%. ERGO will cover the flight cancellation or delay costs and will refund 50% of such costs to the customers, who are covered by the insurance against trip cancellation or interruption risks.

„ERGO Latvija” has recently received many calls from the customers in request for advisory information. To get useful information, including claims application, ERGO Latvija invites its customers, who are covered by the insurance against trip cancellations and interruption risks, to call ERGO daily line: +371 27800666.

The clients of ERGO group in the Baltic States, who have purchased travel insurance along with an airBaltic ticket, have also covered against trip interruption risks. This means, in case of airBaltic first flight or back flight cancellation, insured losses are compensated for travelers. Although the volcanic eruption is a natural disaster and is an insurance exception, nevertheless ERGO will refund costs associated with alternative transport expenses to the insured person so it is able to continue the journey. If the insured person for objective reasons can not continue the journey, it will get a refund of the costs of returning back home. In both cases the insurance will cover costs which do not exceed 50% of the insured risk amount, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the insurance policies.
